About Me - Luis Silva - TikTekTok.com

Hey there!

My name is Luis Silva, I'm 41 years old, and I've always had a thing for tech and electronics.

Since I can remember, whenever I got a chance to know how things work, there I was, taking it. So much so that when I was two years old, I was "lost" and found underneath my father's truck just lying there, looking at it from below, probably trying to figure it out.

Then I grew up, playing with and tearing apart every electronic that I could lay my hands on.

Once, I even connected and attached an old (boombox) tape player to my bike's dynamo just to see if it worked, and strangely it did, whenever the bike reached the right speed.

Then back in my school days, I discovered that I was able to "tell" a machine what to do, and that got me addicted.

So, I'd obviously end up working in an electronics store or as a developer.

In my first 9 to 5 job, I got the chance to be a dev, so I took it and never looked back.

Working with PCs, I started trying out everything digitally-related, from editing photos with Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop 3 (in the early days) to mixing songs (DJ-style) a couple of years later.

Then I purchased my first digital camera back in the early 2000s. The ultra-expensive 2.1 Megapixel Epson PhotoPC 850z, and start to mess around with my first webpages and video editing software, among other things.

A couple years later, I bought my first smartphone: A Nokia N-Gage. It wasn't my first Nokia (I also had a 5110 and a 7110, among others), but it was my first Symbian and one that I could really mess around with apps and so.

Years later, after getting a wife and two kids (a boy and a girl - yes, twins), I entered the Windows Phone ecosystem with a Nokia Lumia 920. I've started creating some apps for it along the way and ended up leaving the platform with a Lumia 950 XL that I still use now and then.

Right now, I have a Nokia 7 Plus that I actually like, but I'm planning to upgrade it in 2021.

These are the ones I kept over the years. There are also others that I should've kept, like the Nokia C7 and the Lumia 920.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy Note 10

If you're part of the "old guard" like me, you'll surely recognize some legends among them, like the Nokia 7110, 3110, N-Gage, and N80, plus my wife's "not so old" Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.

Then I've started this website in 2019 and began focusing on smartphones a year later.

The rest of the story is on my homepage, where you most likely came from.
